An eye opener

June 6, 2009 at 6:20 pm (Inspiration, numero uno)

An improptu gathering I had with my primary schoolmates opened up my view towards life, it all happened when we started talking about what we did like 10 years ago. All of a sudden, memories gushing throught every single brain cells and I live 10 years old once again.

I compared things I thought of back then and compared it to now, I realized that I need to think differently now. To see things differently and to come out from my shell and forget what that happened. It seems like I have been living in my past all these years under the shadow of those who used to protect me during those days. Big portion of the credits will have to go to Ting Sen and Su Ee, they are the ones who are always there for me when I got bullied.

Looking back now, I feel like I need to be independent already, and I also realized my feelings for her had somehow subsided as I believe it to be. She became somewhat significant to me as things I do after the incident is an effort to forget but it ended up as a painful experience.

I grew up, in a blink of eye

A world without colours?

March 29, 2009 at 2:32 pm (Inspiration, Random)

Not that I want to be colour blind but it is more about the racial thing, Malaysia is a land where cultures collide in a friendly way, this issue came up in my mind out of a sudden when I was at the hospital late last year, it seems to me that the hospital is the only place where every one is colour blind, people of different races talked to each other, concerning over the sickness of the people around them. It suddenly makes me think that we are actually not racist, the only problem is that every one is talking, the nurses had to come over and shut every one up.

Each and everyone of us are of the same body structure consisting the same amount of bones, and internal organs, and the only thing that set us apart is skin colour and culture. Among the same race, people have different culture too, no? so why do we have to be racist anyway? In the end, we are all going to be have our parts biodegrade into part of the nature, it seriously makes no difference between us.

I was browsing Youtube for meaningful commercials earlier and bumped into one of the Petronas CNY, Raya, Deepavali TVC and my childhood memories revived, I went to a kindergarten when I was 2, it was Good Hope Kindergarten, it is also a church and yet I see people of all races attending class or should I say playing. I did not know how to speak Malay nor did they know how to speak Mandarin, we used body language! I missed the moment back then and I wonder if my children would feel the same in the future.

Unity is the key for everyone living in a multiracial community but how many can actually do it? I am not sure why is it possible when we were young and not possible as we grew older? I had good Malay and Indian friends, in fact, we are very close and we could just talk about anything, therefore, I believe that racial differences is not a problem if only we take some time to know each other better.

Because we are not water and oil, we are all water colours, it only make things wonderful when all the colours are being mixed together, simple yet complicated, it depends on how we look at it. It suddenly seems to me that Art is the only key to unity now because every single colour is a different individual but when they are all on a plain white piece of canvas, every colour compliment each other.

Lighthouse needed

February 8, 2009 at 4:09 pm (Inspiration)

I woke up at 9am to attend a overview of an workshop this morning, its by 95% Advertising Academy and they really know what they are doing, spent like 2 hours on listening, discussing and self discovery but the 3 months course cost RM5.500 and it actually inspired me on stuff that I’ve overlooked in the past. Also got to have a little talk with Bee Nee, who is the Winner for Best of the Best Student Award at “Change the game” Kancils Award 2008 and she said that her experience in 95% is pleasant and very interesting compared to what she heard from people who are doing it at local institutes. Looking forward to the course but money factor comes in.

Received a sms from someone on something that I have been dragging on for weeks, reason being that I am lost of what I really want or something like that, mainly confused and there’s this thing called fear lurking within me causing anxiety.

Glad to have very encouraging friends but it made me see more of my flaws and seeing myself as unworthy of what that could happen.

Basically, lost and dont know what to do.

醒了吗?

December 2, 2008 at 12:02 pm (Inspiration, Random)

I was inspired to write this while I was watching to this random movie while my mom is not watching the TV, not really good but somehow it signifies the meaning of the happenings between the two leads, and I came up with this poem-similar-thingy. Forgive my poor Mandarin as I only had chinese education up to Primary school level.

The Calling and some other stuff

December 2, 2008 at 11:00 am (Inspiration, UTAR) (, , , , , , )

Well, I am not very creative in terms of titles but it has been awhile since I last posted something here, I guess its another sin.

The Calling, as in the band, has been around for some time and I was captivated by Alex’s voice the very first time I listen to him, then Tonie’s band that time actually sang their songs pretty well. Their songs came into my mind again during the planning stage of our campaign, the recycling campaign where Sereen got a band to play Our Lives by The Calling, you can consider it as a detour down memory lane as there are alot of memories during that time. My favorite song from them would be Stigmatized and Could it be any harder, definitely worth the five minutes listening to them but some how I don’t know why they are not famous here in Malaysia anymore.

However, the campaign is now over and I can finally take a lil breather for now but the first exam is next week and nothing has been revised yet which means I am in deep shit! I was in an overall crisis this semester with so many problems surfaced and caught me off guard, ranging from self conflict to family problems to relationship thingy, and this is not a really good situation for me nevertheless.

But I guess all is well now and the campaign was celebrated with quite a few of us at Euphoria last Thursday where Stephy and Chew Hsia got me drunk but thank Buddha that I did not encounter any hangover else I would be dead by now. The adventure was fun and I had to admire the place for being smoke free other than the smoke machine. *note to self: do not let Chew hsia or Stephy get my glass*

Judging by how lazy I can be, I doubt that I will be able to blog over the Christmas, therefore, Merry Christmas to all of you and have a happy New Year, May it be a better year ahead and its time to have some new year resolutions and accomplishing it by the end of the year of 2009!

Cheers! and this is a song by The Calling – Could it be any harder

Third day at work and some random thoughts

January 7, 2008 at 2:38 pm (Inspiration, Random, internship)

Although I am not complaining for all the scannings I did and the soon to come reports tomorrow, I am feeling satisfied for the stuff I have done so far during my internship. After all the media monitoring and scanning new clippings, I get to photocopy the reports and was given the reason to do so, because when the older interns left, nobody is free enough to teach.

Saw Choon who is incharge of P&g, Club21, and ofcourse the very best, Baskin Robins! Oh and he gave us some DoDo bird keychain from his Mauritius trip and that place sounds like a nice place to me. Ok, back to the topic.. I got off from work at 8pm because I really wanted to finish Hazel’s work and to not drag it any further. Hazel suddenly makes me hate those banks now, namely CIMB, Citi Bank, Public Bank, Standard Charted and etc. I wanna go look at Baskin Robins instead~~~~~

At this point, I realised that I need a direction to not only for my career but also what I wanna achieve in my life. As of now, I find PR really interesting from the articles I read and the way people behave in this industry. Seriously, they are fun to be with and they talk about just anything and everything. Hopefully I will find my direction from this latest passion of mine and hopefully I will get to do more interesting stuff at GCI such as Press realeases, Feature articles and ofcourse lots of brainstorming to share ideas!

The view from the small tiny club house, its like having your very own private beach cause there’s so few people there, we can roll from one end to the other. This is what you call a VACATION!

Good and Bad

December 16, 2007 at 3:15 pm (Inspiration, Random)

What defines Good from Bad and Bad from Good?

From where I stand, the definition of Good and Bad depends very much of the people who sees it! Its Perception! Like Beauty, ever heard of the word ” Beauty lies in the eye of the beholder” ? Its like Good and Bad, those who agree to those deeds you have done, they will think that you are good and vice versa.

Best example from the West, Robin Hood, Have you heard of him? The ever mighty one who robs the rich and give it to the poor. In the eyes of the poor during his time, he was known as the hero, the savior, even greater than the King at that period of time. However, in the eyes of the rich and powerful, Robin Hood was nothing but pest who causes unrest and trouble to anyone in charge. So how do you define good and bad then?

Alot of times, we judge based of the very first impression/opinion but we neglected the truth which is yet to be discovered. Therefore, more social unrest arises and more episodes to the blaming game, not only among the society but also among the authority.

The most common ones will be political issues which is caused by simple misunderstandings and both party did not looked into matters carefully before making any judgements. I wonder if its fair.. Well, tell me how do you define Good and Bad? :D
