The band called Hinder

January 14, 2009 at 4:51 am (review)

I am a huge fan of Nickelback and followed them ever since high school days due to the fact that the scout den has a partially damaged radio and Hitz.fm was the best station to tune in back then. Their songs seriously rocked my world at different phases of my life.

However, this band called Hinder was unknown to me until Dj Ian at Hitz.fm mentioned it before playing and that’s the time where I know that the song that I have been listening on the radio station is Hinder’s Lips of an Angel.

Hinder’s genre is pop and rock and I seriously thinks it one of the safest genre for any aspiring artist to make it big provided that they are good looking and some talent.

Attached is their song, Lips of an Angel but its not the video because it loads alot slower with the actual video.

I had to admit that I admire her music very much even though her music did not reach the shores of Malaysia, that’s what I think. She has some unique sense of fashion judging by what I saw in her videos on youtube. But her music really did act as an anti depressant for me. I personally adore “You Know me better” and “Overpowered”

This is You know me better

and this is Overpowered.

Enjoy

Joanna Wang, Talented indeed!

July 12, 2008 at 5:27 am (review) (, , , , , , )

Came across this very beautiful singer with voice that could charm every single human being on Earth. She has the Norah Jones touch in her music but you can really see a difference between her and Norah Jones. Definitely a singer with attitude, she even criticizes her Father’s singing in public! Oh, by the way, her dad is one of the famous music producer in Taiwan, Wang Zhi Ping, notable for S.H.E’s albums and other pop stars from Taiwan. Genetics man!

She aces in both Chinese Songs and English songs, her songs can really switch your moods, not so sure about you, but it works on me and I don’t know why. And I strongly believes that words alone can’t describe this 19 year old wonder, YES, she is only 19 and she’s already singing like a seasoned singer! Well, here’s a music video of her one of her latest songs, The Best Mistake I’ve ever made [English] My personal fav!

And, Lost in Paradise [Chinese]

Enjoy this wonderful talent and your weekend as well :)

Cheers and be mesmerized.

10,000 BC

March 31, 2008 at 3:30 pm (review)

The movie talks about this boy who grew up to be a Manak (mammoth) hunter and then went on a journey to an unknown land to save his people and also the one he love.

10000bcposter.jpg

Played by Steven Strait as the leading actor D’leh and Camille Belle as his childhood lover, Evolet. Evolet was being found by the hunters when they were patrolling and her blue eyes quickly captured the eyes of the Old mother who is the witch of the Yaghal village. She foresees that Evolet will bring hope to the weakened village as the manaks are not coming as often as they used to. D’leh and Evolet fell in love even when they are young but it didnt last long enough as there were four legged demons which is actually horsemen taking strong men and women away for their dirty schemes. Evolet was taken away as well when the leader of the horsemen was attracted to her beauty.

Then the story begins…

I like this movie as Evolet aka Camille Belle is damn hot! Like a goddess! haha Here, let me show you a picture of her in the movie..10000bc_photo.jpg

Hot right? Definately superbly sizzling hawt~ *psstttt* haha

Anyway, the movie is up to you to discover whether you really like it or not but it has a pretty crappy ending to it. But for those hopeless romantics.. watch it! LOL to me, its 3.5 stars over 5. Enjoy

Qing Zhen at Novotel

February 21, 2008 at 2:28 pm (review) (, , )

Before eating at Qing Zhen which is a Chinese Muslim Restaurant that serves halal food but with an expensive price tag and it means No Pork, I didnt know that food without pork can taste good as well! The whole of GCI was being treated at Qing Zhen yesterday courtesy of our boss, Wei. Supposedly, we were going to order their festival menu but at the 11th hour, Wei said that its better to order from the menu than to get from the sets. Since he is the one paying, he gets to make the decision.

As it is our department lunch for CNY, we decided to treat ourselves to a good load of  Salmon LouSang  followed by Spicy soup  before they bring out the “Mala” toufu and their signature, Steamed fish with soy sauce. We had vegetables as well which is long beans and steamed kailan before ending our ordeal with laici desserts! I guess its going to cost the boss a good amount of money! *ngek ngek ngek* Oh yea, we had this fried chicken in spicy sauce as well but it wasnt that good compared to their other dishes. I think the chicken is not very fresh and the way they handle it is not good either.

As I were saying, the food was good but the service was crappy. We had to wait for like 45minutes before being served with the appetizer, and to add salt to the wound, we had to force the waiter to get us tea! and they call themselves a 4 star hotel? Making hungry men and women wait for their food for way too long is just the same as dipping yourself in meat juice and stand infront of a dog who hasnt eat for days!

Overall, the food was 7 out of 10 and service was 2 out of 10! so much for a 4 star! I bet they bribed for it!

Definately a track worth listening, for the people who enjoy a relaxed and slow paced music, this is one track that will sooth your stressed soul. They are already out of Malaysia if you wanna see them live but heck, I believe they will be back to rock the Indie scene of Malaysia! and Enjoy…

National Treasure: Book of Secrets

December 30, 2007 at 4:41 pm (review) (, , , )

With Nicholas Cage and Diane Krudge as their main cast, this movie is definately interesting. Although its not as nice as the previous one but I like this one as well, very interesting puzzles and facts. Before watching this movie, I didn’t know that there’s 3 Statue of Liberty and ofcourse the history of United States.

Like the previous one, there’s a villain here too and his name is Mitch Wilkinson whose ancestor is one of the generals of the liberty army. The reason why he is the villain here is for a noble cause for the Wilkinson family which is to leave their name in the history of United States of America.

Very interesting plots and directing. They even plan the third sequence in this movie by using Page 47! watch it and you’ll know. :D

I rate this movie 4/5 due the some bad lightings in certain scenes. But overall, its good and worth that Rm11. 100 times better than The Golden Compass!
